Response to the Yates Report

Like all soccer fans, the Riveters were shocked, saddened, and angry by the results of the 2021 Yates Report, and its findings of abuse and obstruction by Portland Timbers and Thorns coaches and staff. The Riveters took action almost immediately, with a series of ultimately unproductive meetings with club leadership, leading to a merchandise boycott and call for the removal of Thorns General Manager, Gavin Wilkinson. These actions led to the club removing Wilkinson in late 2022. ​The Riveters will continue to use their platform to support player safety and shine a light on corruption and abuse.
